Webinar -- The #1 Legal Document Every Parent Should Have: Standby Guardianship

Did you know a simple document that will take you less than an hour to complete could protect your children should something happen to you?

A Standby Guardianship document is a short but important document that you can carry with you as a safeguard against emergencies. For example, if you and your spouse are hurt in the same accident and are recovering at home or in a hospital for some time, you’ll need to authorize someone to care for your children. Where caring for your kids involves situations where legal parental authority is required (e.g. picking up kids from school, making decisions on their health and care with healthcare providers, living with them in the interim, managing their medication if they need any), you’ll need someone to share that parental authority. Informing schools and doctors etc.. will not be enough as they have legal obligations and duties to your children. A Standby Guardianship document is the solution. And a Standby Guardian only has selected rights over your minor child’s care (per what you spell out), without you giving up your parental rights, while you are alive.

For obvious reasons, Standby Guardianships are particularly important for single parents.

Join us for a 1-hour webinar that will show you how to complete your own Standby Guardianship document.

We’ll cover the following:

  • What is Standby Guardianship of Minor Children

  • What is Permanent Guardianship

  • What to consider when choosing a Standby Guardian

  • Completing a Standby Guardianship document (we’ll take you through each paragraph as you complete the document)

To register, complete and submit the form below (instructions and links for joining the webinar will be e-mailed to you):
